Meet Dr. Aversano – Havana Street Dental
Dr. Laura Aversano
Dr. Laura Aversano had been practicing dentistry for 20 years in Illinois prior to her recent move to Colorado. Dr. Aversano was the sole owner of Manhattan Dental Care in Manhattan, IL for the past 14 years. As part of her continued commitment to giving back, Dr. Aversano participated in the Illinois Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped, Operation Care Package, her local food pantry and her own Veteran’s Day Program. Manhattan Dental Care hosted a “candy buy back” where children receive $1 per pound for Halloween candy donated to Operation Care Package. Dr. Aversano matched the donations and Manhattan Dental Care collected more 1000 lbs of candy every year.
Dr. Aversano’s community service was recognized by her community with awards such as Business of the Year and induction into her college’s inaugural Hall of Fame. During her career she has been an associate professor of fixed and removeable prosthodontics at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry. As an associate professor at UIC, she also worked with junior and senior dental students during their clinical training. She has been heavily devoted to her continuing education. Her additional training includes CEREC, implants and botox for cosmetic and therapeutic use. The one visit crown or CEREC has been part of her practice since 2011 and she is excited to bring her experience and the technology to Havana Street Dental.
Dr. Aversano strongly believes in providing quality dental care to her patients. Her philosophy is to listen to her patients and ensure their comfort. The Havana Street Dental staff plays a crucial role in easing a patient’s concern and Dr. Aversano requires that each member of her staff shows the necessary gently and passionate care towards all patients. Team is an important part of the practice. You will often hear her called Dr. Laura because of her friendly and approachable nature.
Dr. Aversano and her husband of 17 years, Vince Aversano, reside in Colorado Springs. Their daughter, Ava, has been a figure skater for 12 years. Her training brought them to Colorado. Ava and her ice dance partner train at the World Arena in the Springs. Their family of 3 is complete with their 5 dogs.
